Soft Pastel Workshops

I regularly run soft pastel workshops in Morrinsville and nearby towns, designed for everyone from beginners, to people who already have some creative experience and want to deepen their skills with this beautiful medium.

My workshops focus especially on soft pastel pencils. You’ll learn practical techniques you can take straight back to your own practice, in a relaxed and supportive setting.

Join me for a relaxed, hands-on day exploring the beautiful medium of soft pastel pencils.

This more in-depth workshop is ideal for those who want to build on their existing skills, gain confidence with techniques, and learn more about the process behind creating a successful artwork.

Alongside demonstrations and guided practice, we'll explore how to choose strong reference photos, edit them to bring out the best in your subject, and make decisions about light, shadow, colour and composition before putting pencil to paper.

Whether you're relatively new to pastels or have already been experimenting with the medium, you'll come away with new techniques, a better understanding of the creative process, and plenty of inspiration to keep developing your own work.

Come along for a creative day of learning, experimenting and connecting with other artists in a friendly, supportive environment.
