After the Rain was inspired by the beautiful hellebores I came across on a trip with my daughter. I loved the way the flowers seemed to glow against the softer greens around them, with little drops of water catching the light on the petals. I wanted to capture that feeling of fresh, quiet beauty after rain, while playing with abstract shapes and looser marks in the background to let the luminous whites and delicate details of the flowers stand out.
This is a fine art giclée reproduction of Bernadette’s original soft pastel drawing, faithfully printed using archival pigment inks on luxurious 330gsm hot-pressed cotton rag.
